Example - How to Make an Image Background Transparent (PNG with Alpha Channel).

This describes how to make an image background transparent using collage making software or photo montage program. We will cut the object out from its background and save it as png with alpha channel.

• We want to make the transparent background for this puppy.

• Select tool Separation.
• Set Mode - Full.
• Set Area Selection - Object.
• Roughly mark the object. Make the mark line closed for further filling.

• Set Area Selection - Background.
• Roughly mark the background. Make the mark line closed.

• Press Actions - Fill.
• Set Area Selection - Object.
• Click inside the object in order to fill it. Filling is necessary only for separation acceleration, especially on big photos.

• Repeat filling for the background.

• Press Actions - Separate.
• Zoom in the picture to have a good look at separation imperfections.

• Define the object and its background more precisely near the imperfection places.
• Press Actions - Separate - separation becomes more accurate.

• Move to the next border area. Define the object and its background more precisely.
• Press Actions - Separate.

• Define the object and its background more precisely around a tail.

• Define the object and its background more precisely at the last part of the image.

• The object and its background are separated precisely.
• Press Mode - Effect.

• Press Actions - Store.
• Press Actions - Done.
• Select tool Paste Object.
• Press Export and save the object as png with transparent background (alpfa channel).
